Track 1: Cancer Biology
In scientific terms Cancer, Sometimes referred as Tumor, is the uncontrolled and abnormal growth of the Cells in any living being. Often these cells have the capability of invading the other cells present in the organism. Study of Cancer is coined as Oncology and study of the behaviour of the Cancer cells inside an Organism is termed as Cancer Biology.
Cancer Biology helps us in understanding why the cells divide in abnormal manner, when and what are the possible consequences of this. This study also helps us in Prevention and Curing of the Oncogenesis.
Study of the behaviour of these Cancer Cells involves many approaches. Most of the times Cancer Biology is studied taking animal models into consideration. Many of the Ground-breaking innovations in Cancer Studies are brought after understanding the behaviour of these Cancer Cells.

Track 2: Oncogenomics, Metabolomics & Epigenetics of Cancer
Oncogenomics: It is a branch of the genomics which deals with the role of genes in Cancer. This involves studying how the behaviour of the genes gives raise to the Cancer Cells. These studies involve how the cancer genes replicate, Transcript and Translate in each cells. Often mutation in these genes results into Cancer. So it becomes very important to study the behaviour of these genes to understand Cancer.
Metabolomics: Metabolomics is the field of science which involves the study of Chemical Processes involving metabolites. Each cell in an Organism/system will be carrying out many chemical processes at the cellular level. The study of these chemical processes will reveal the action of the cancer cells.
It is also believed that Inheritance also plays a major role in developing Normal cells into Cancer/Tumor Cells.

Track 3: Breast Cancer
It is considered to be the most common Cancer among humans, if not at least among the women Population. According to a Survey conducted in 2015 around 2.1 Million people were affected by this and among this population 5.3 lack were killed. First appears like a typical lump in the breast tissues, which later undergoes metastasis and invades all other cells in the Breast.
Most likely factors responsible for the Breast Cancer are Smoking, Lifestyle and Inheritance.
This is the hot topic among the Cancer Researchers around the globe for last few years. It is to be noted that even after so much researches the numbers associated with this have been increasing. This is considered to be due to less known facts and less awareness among the people.

Glance at Market of Cancer:
Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and accounted for 8.8 million death in 2015. Lung, prostate, colorectal, stomach and liver cancer are the most common types of cancer in men, while breast, colorectal, lung, cervix and stomach cancer are the most common among women. Cancer affects everyone – the young and old, the rich and poor, men, women and children – and represents a tremendous burden on patients, families and societies. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world. Yet, many of these deaths can be avoided. Between 30-50% of cancers are preventable by healthy lifestyle choices such as avoidance of tobacco and public health measures like immunization against cancer causing infections. Others can be detected early, treated and cured. Even with late stage cancer, the suffering of patients should be relieved with good palliative care. The economic impact of cancer is significant and is increasing .The total annual economic cost of cancer is around US$ 1.16 trillion. In 2015 about 8.8 million people died from cancer-nearly 1 in 6 global deaths. The number of new cases is expected to rise by about 70% over the next 2 decades. Only 1 in 5 low- and middle-income countries have the necessary data to drive cancer policy.
Mehul Vyas
Mehul Vyas, who was diagnosed with Throat Cancer, had a very tough phase of his life fighting the cancer. When we reached him to listen how he went on to survive this ultimate test we has more than happy to help. Here is what his friend and a witness to his fight told about him-
"Early last year we found out through a flurry of whatsapp messages that a classmate had fairly advanced cancer of the larynx. He embarked on an eight month-long fight against the cancer. What a fight it was. At one point he had a tube in his throat to breathe and a tube in his nose to eat (and the insanely positive mindset to see the humour in that set up) He spent days when the pain from chemo was unbearable - there was a night where he felt the pain would kill him - yet, he woke up the next morning and shared with us his experience of the night. He lost a bunch of teeth to prepare himself for radiation - yet, was only focussed on the front teeth that were left behind so that he could continue smiling. His smoking habit had probably contributed to the cancer - I still can't believe the candour with which he admits this - no defensiveness, no excuses. He embarked upon a crusade to get others to give up smoking - even as he battled cancer.
