Dr. Raghu Pandurangi(Biography)
Dr. Raghu Pandurangi has an initial training in Analytical Spectroscopy and inorganic synthesis for his Ph.D. degree at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. During his postdoctoral training in Radiology at University of Missouri, Columbia he learnt to develop radiopharmaceuticals before he became a faculty at Chemistry & Internal Medicine. During his tenure, he developed phototherapy for cancer treatment and Angiotensin Receptor Imaging to predict heart failure with NIH grants. He joined Shering AG (Germany/Berlex in USA) where he developed 2 FDA approved drugs (AccuTect and NeoTect) for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Imaging agent, Somatostatin Receptorbased radionuclide treatment for cancer treatment and preclinical Aptamer for cancer treatment. He was a key leader in Mallinckrodt for 5 years on apoptosis imaging and started a new program embedded therapy, a technology to encapsulate toxic drugs inside liposomes for cancer treatment. Dr. Pandurangi, currently is a Founder, President of Sci-Engi-Medco Solutions (SEMCO) and Amplexi-LLC developing a novel technology “A Priori Activation of Apoptosis Pathways of Tumorâ€, popularly called AAAPT technology which is a theranostic approach to a) improve the clinical performance of current cancer treatments, b) reduce the side effects and c) predict the onset of cardiotoxicity using noninvasive, real time imaging. SEMCO has received several NIH grants on their pathway for a potential commercialization
